I don't have an image yet, but maybe I'll post a picture of the tattered screen drape that I have as a sorry excuse for a back screen door. You'll understand my motivation if I provide a simple picture. The funny thing is, I understand why someone might have something like this, but it sucks. It sucks hard.
My family have lived with it a couple of years. It's been one of those things that we just haven't gotten around to changing since moving in.
Each time something gets caught on the, already, tattered screen I want to rip the entire contraption off the Velcro that holds it up. In fact, as I type this, I'm not sure why I haven't already taken it down. We don't have the door open all that often. When we do have it open I don't think it keeps any bugs out. It has more holes than the Swiss cheese we buy.
The good thing about this project is that I've already started on the frame. It's not quite done, but I have the outside, a couple of braces, and a cross-bar. I think this would benefit from some grinding. Eventually I'll stack dimes and let them shine on everything I make, even stuff like this. For now, I'll grind it smooth and make it look dapper. I already have some perforated steel for the bottom. Future proofing it for when we have a dog again. I'm still thinking about how I'm going to attach the actual screen, but I'll figure it out soon. After all, I want to get this one done.
